Culham Brake SSSI
Culham Brake is a small area of wet willow woodland with large sedges and wetland wildflowers on the ground. Wet woodland is rare in Oxfordshire and is a national priority for nature conservation.
The site is particularly important for the presence of a large population of the nationally scarce Lodden Lily. This wildflower is found mainly along the River Thames in Oxfordshire and Berkshire and the River Lodden which gives the plant its name. Other wetland wildflowers found here include meadowsweet, valerian and yellow flag iris.
