The majority of these wildlife habitats are on private land and access to them is not possible without permission of the landowner, unless there is a statutory right of way. Area: 252.8ha

Cherwell Valley

This site consists of a large section of the Cherwell flood plain. This area has always been important for birds due to regular flooding and the presence of wet grassland habitat. In winter the area is liable to flood and it attracts good numbers of wildfowl that winter in the UK and flocks of wading birds. Many of these are classed as birds of conservation concern. These include gadwall, teal and lapwing. This area is the most important part of the Cherwell Valley in North Oxfordshire.
